HEAT & PACK THERAPY
Castor Oil
Pack
Warm castor oil on flannel over the abdomen or a joint, covered and heated. A gentle naturopathic classic for digestion, liver support, menstrual comfort and joint stiffness.
01WHAT IT IS
A castor oil pack is a piece of flannel soaked in warm castor oil, laid over the abdomen or a joint, covered with plastic and a hot water bottle, and left to work for half an hour. It is one of the gentlest and most widely used naturopathic applications, traditionally placed over the liver and abdomen for digestion and detox support, over the lower abdomen for menstrual comfort, and over stiff joints.
Because it is soothing rather than stimulating, it suits guests who find mustard or ginger applications too strong.
