LIFESTYLE CONDITIONS

Conditions
we support.

Ayurveda and naturopathy for the conditions modern life produces, always alongside your doctor’s care and never in place of it.

01HOW WE WORK

Treat the pattern, not just the label.

Most lifestyle conditions share the same roots: irregular routine, food that does not suit the person, too little movement, too little rest and too much stress. Ayurveda reads these as imbalances of the doshas and the digestive fire; naturopathy reads them as the body asking for better conditions. Both respond to the same remedy, a structured period of care in which diet, therapy, movement and rest are set right together.

Every program at Arogya Retreatt begins with a consultation in which your reports, medicines and history are reviewed. We work alongside your existing medical care, and prescribed medicines are never stopped on our advice. The sections below describe our approach to each condition, the therapies usually involved and the programs that suit it.

01

Obesity & weight management

मोटापा एवं वज़न प्रबंधन

Sustainable change through diet, movement, powder massage and supervised detox rather than crash restriction.

Ayurveda sees excess weight as a Kapha and Agni concern: heaviness accumulates when digestion is slow and routine is irregular. Naturopathy adds the tools of diet therapy, hydrotherapy and movement. At Arogya Retreatt the two are combined into a plan that lightens the body without starving it.

A typical program uses Udhwarthanam herbal powder massage, Podikizhi, steam and sauna, a timed sattvic diet with fasting only where suitable, daily yoga and, for guests who qualify, supervised cleansing such as Vamana. Progress is reviewed through the stay and a home routine is set before you leave.

02

Type 2 diabetes & metabolic health

मधुमेह (टाइप 2) एवं चयापचय

Diet, movement and cleansing therapies that support blood-sugar management alongside your doctor's treatment.

Ayurveda describes Prameha, a group of metabolic disorders, and treats it through Agni, diet and lifestyle correction. We work alongside your existing medical care and never ask you to stop prescribed medicines; the aim is better daily control, energy and weight, reviewed together with your doctor.

Programs combine a carefully planned diet, daily yoga and walking, Udhwarthanam and steam where suitable, hydrotherapy, and herbal support recommended by the practitioner. Guests with complications such as reduced sensation receive adapted therapies with close temperature monitoring.

03

Hypertension & heart health

उच्च रक्तचाप एवं हृदय स्वास्थ्य

Calming therapies, breath work and a low-salt sattvic diet that complement medical management of blood pressure.

Stress, sleep, salt and weight all push blood pressure upward, and all four respond to a retreat rhythm. We combine Shirodhara and Abhyanga for the nervous system, pranayama and meditation for the breath, and a diet planned around your readings, always alongside your cardiologist's advice.

Blood pressure is checked regularly during a stay and therapies are adjusted accordingly. Strong heat, very cold immersion and vigorous procedures are avoided where they are not appropriate.

04

Stress, anxiety & sleep

तनाव, चिंता एवं नींद

Shirodhara, oil therapies, Yoga Nidra and an unhurried routine for a nervous system that will not switch off.

Ayurveda treats restlessness, anxiety and broken sleep as aggravated Vata: too much movement, too little grounding. The remedy is warmth, oil, rhythm and rest. This is the concern our guests most often arrive with, and the one the retreat setting helps most.

A de-stress plan usually pairs Shirodhara or Shiro Basti with Abhyanga, adds Netra Tarpanam for screen-tired eyes, and frames each day with pranayama in the morning and Yoga Nidra in the evening. Meals are warm and regular, and phones are encouraged to rest too.

05

Digestive complaints

पाचन संबंधी समस्याएँ

Acidity, reflux, bloating, IBS-type discomfort and constipation addressed through Agni, diet and gentle cleansing.

Digestion sits at the centre of Ayurvedic thinking. Acidity and reflux point to excess Pitta; bloating and irregularity to disturbed Vata; heaviness and sluggishness to Kapha. The practitioner identifies which pattern is yours before recommending anything.

Plans use timed meals and a diet for your pattern, hip baths and abdominal packs from naturopathy, Takradhara or Shirodhara where stress is driving symptoms, and yogic cleansing such as Laghu Shankha Prakshalana for constipation. Cooling therapies are chosen for acidity, warming ones for sluggishness.

06

Back, neck & joint pain

पीठ, गर्दन एवं जोड़ों का दर्द

Kati, Greeva and Janu Basti, Podikizhi and therapeutic yoga for spondylosis, arthritis and postural strain.

Chronic pain in the spine and joints is the concern Ayurvedic oil therapies are best known for. Warm medicated oil retained over the affected region, combined with herbal bolus therapy and a course of gentle movement, relieves stiffness and supports the tissues around the joint.

The practitioner examines the region and reviews any scans before choosing between Kati Basti for the lower back, Greeva Basti for the neck, Janu Basti for the knees, Pizhichil or Podikizhi for widespread stiffness, and local steam or packs. Therapeutic yoga is taught alongside so that the gains last.

07

Respiratory & sinus

श्वसन एवं साइनस

Nasyam, steam, Uro Basti and breathing practice for recurrent sinusitis, allergies and breathing heaviness.

Chronic sinus congestion, allergic rhinitis and a tendency to breathing heaviness are treated in Ayurveda through the nose and chest: Nasyam to clear and lubricate the airways, steam to loosen, and Uro Basti to ease the chest. Naturopathy adds chest packs and breathing training.

These therapies support, and never replace, medical treatment for asthma or infection. Guests continue their inhalers and medicines, and acute episodes are treated medically first. Between episodes, a course of therapy and pranayama can reduce how often they recur.

08

Skin & hair

त्वचा एवं बाल

Herbal lepa, Takradhara, Shiro Basti and diet for acne-prone skin, Pitta-type complaints and hair fall.

Ayurveda reads the skin as a mirror of digestion and Pitta. Acne, itching and heat-related eruptions are cooled from the outside with herbal lepa and Takradhara and from the inside with diet. Hair fall and dryness are approached through scalp nourishment and stress relief.

Skin conditions with a medical diagnosis, such as psoriasis or eczema, are supported alongside dermatological care and only when the skin is not in an acute flare. A patch test precedes any new herbal application.

09

Thyroid, PCOS & hormonal balance

थायरॉइड, पीसीओएस एवं हार्मोन संतुलन

Lifestyle, diet, yoga and cleansing therapies that support hormonal rhythm alongside your endocrine care.

Thyroid imbalance and PCOS often travel with weight change, fatigue, irregular cycles and stress, and it is these that a retreat can address directly. Ayurveda works through Agni, Kapha reduction and routine; naturopathy through diet, movement and hydrotherapy.

Programs are planned with your test reports and continue alongside prescribed medication. They typically include Udhwarthanam, steam, a diet suited to your constitution, therapeutic yoga, and cleansing procedures only where the practitioner judges them suitable.

10

Fatigue, immunity & recovery

थकान, रोग-प्रतिरोधक क्षमता एवं स्वास्थ्य-लाभ

Rejuvenating oil therapies, nourishment and rest for low energy, frequent illness and recovery after a long illness.

Ayurveda has a whole branch, Rasayana, devoted to rebuilding strength and immunity. Its tools are nourishing oil therapies such as Pizhichil and Abhyanga, a building diet, sleep, and practices that steady the mind. This is the approach we take for guests who feel depleted rather than ill.

Recovery programs are gentle by design. Cleansing is minimal or deferred, therapies are warming and nourishing, and the day leaves room for genuine rest. Guests recovering from surgery or serious illness are accepted only with their doctor's clearance.

This page is educational. It describes how Ayurvedic and naturopathic care is traditionally applied to these conditions and does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a qualified doctor. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.

02QUESTIONS

Common questions about lifestyle care.

Do I have to stop my medicines to take treatment here?

No. Our programs work alongside your existing medical care. Bring your reports and current prescriptions to the consultation, and continue your medicines unless your own doctor changes them.

How long does a program for a lifestyle condition take?

Day-care courses of five to seven sessions suit pain and stress concerns. Metabolic conditions such as weight, diabetes and thyroid usually benefit from a residential stay of seven to fourteen days followed by a home routine. The practitioner will advise after consultation.

Can I come for a single consultation first?

Yes. A consultation without any treatment is the usual first step, and it can be done in person at the centre in Bahadurgarh or by phone before you travel.
