HEAT & PACK THERAPY
Steam Bath &
Sauna
Full-body steam, dry detox sauna, or local steam to one region. Naturopathy's and Ayurveda's shared tool for sweating out heaviness, loosening stiffness and preparing the body for deeper therapies.
01WHAT IT IS
स्वेदन · Swedana · Sudation, the induction of therapeutic sweating
Sweating is one of the body's own cleansing routes, and both traditions use it deliberately. In the steam bath you sit in a cabinet with the head outside while herbal steam surrounds the body; in the detox sauna dry heat produces a stronger sweat; local steam directs vapour at one region such as the back, a knee or the chest.
In Ayurveda this is Swedana, the sudation that follows oil therapy and precedes Panchkarma procedures. In naturopathy it is used for detox programs, weight management, stiffness and congestion. The practitioner sets the type, temperature and duration.
