HEAT & PACK THERAPY
Naturopathic
Packs
Moist cloth packs applied to a specific region, from the abdomen and chest to the spine, knee, throat and ankle, plus the full wet sheet pack. Naturopathy's targeted tool for congestion, pain and organ support.
01WHAT IT IS
A pack is a cloth wrung out in cool water, laid over a region and covered with a dry layer so that it warms against the body. The initial coolness draws blood to the area and the gradual warming holds it there, which naturopathy uses to relieve congestion, ease pain and support the organ beneath: the liver and stomach under a gastro-hepatic pack, the kidneys, the lungs under a chest pack, the spine, and the joints of the knee, leg and ankle.
The wet sheet pack wraps the whole body and is used for fever, agitation and detox. Packs are usually applied daily within a program and are among the easiest treatments to continue at home.
02HOW IT IS DONE AT AROGYA
- 01
The practitioner prescribes the pack, its temperature and duration.
- 02
A cloth is wrung out in water and applied to the region, then covered with a dry cloth or blanket.
- 03
You rest quietly while the pack warms.

The pack is removed and the skin dried briskly.

06QUESTIONS
Common questions about Naturopathic Packs.
Why is the pack applied cool?
The brief coolness draws blood to the region; as the pack warms against the body, that circulation is held there, which is what relieves congestion and pain.
