HYDROTHERAPY

Spinal
Bath

Lying in a shallow tub so that water bathes the length of the spine. A calming naturopathic application for stress, sleeplessness, back tension and nervous fatigue.

02 / AROGYA

01WHAT IT IS

The spinal bath is taken lying in a shallow tub with water covering only the back, from the neck to the base of the spine. Because the spinal nerves lie close to the surface, water at the right temperature has a marked effect on the whole nervous system: neutral or cool water soothes and sedates, warmer water relieves stiffness.

It is one of naturopathy's most valued treatments for stress, anxiety, insomnia and nervous exhaustion, and is usually taken in the evening within a program.

05QUESTIONS

Common questions about Spinal Bath.

How is a spinal bath different from a normal bath?

Only the spine is in water, and the depth and temperature are precise. The aim is to act on the nervous system through the back rather than to bathe the whole body.
