Massage
Treatments
A considered collection of oil, pressure and restorative bodywork practices. Your therapist recommends intensity and technique after consultation.
Massage at Arogya Retreatt sits between two traditions. From Ayurveda come the warm-oil therapies such as Abhyanga, Udhwarthanam and Shantishali Pinda Swedan, where the oil, the herbs infused in it and the direction of the strokes are chosen for your constitution. From modern therapeutic bodywork come Swedish, deep tissue, drainage and hot stone techniques that address specific muscular and circulatory concerns.
None of these is prescribed from a list. After consultation the practitioner recommends the technique, oil and pressure that suit you, and whether a single session or a short course is appropriate. Guests from Delhi, Gurgaon and Rohtak often combine a massage with hydrotherapy or steam on a day visit, while residential guests receive massage as part of a daily Panchkarma or naturopathy rhythm.

02QUESTIONS
Common questions about Massage Treatments.
What is the difference between Abhyanga and a regular oil massage?
Abhyanga is the classical Ayurvedic full-body oil massage. The oil is warmed and medicated with herbs chosen for your dosha, and the strokes follow the direction of the body's channels rather than only working the muscles. It is often the preparatory step for other Ayurvedic therapies.
Can I have a massage on a day visit without a stay?
Yes. Individual massage sessions are available to day guests after a brief consultation. Many guests combine a massage with steam or a hydrotherapy bath in the same visit.
Are there conditions where massage is not advised?
Massage is avoided over acute injuries, infections, fever, certain skin conditions and in some circulatory disorders. Please tell the practitioner about pregnancy, recent surgery, blood-thinning medication or any diagnosed condition before the session.
A CONSIDERED NOTE
“Touch becomes therapeutic when it is attentive, appropriate and unhurried.”
Every treatment is subject to individual consultation and professional suitability.
